My favorite trend out there. The pants under a skirt or dress. We all know LOVE dresses, why not take the whole look to another level. Trust me, you would — and will, as soon as you try it. The whole skirt-or-dress-over-pants trend might be one of the most intimidating of the season, but it’s a surprisingly easy thing to pull off. All you have to do is embrace layers, play with textures, and pay extra mind to color palettes and prints.
There’s a real art to layering and it’s to make sure everything you’re wearing has a similar aesthetic. For example, if you like your clothes crisp and classic, try a shirtdress unbuttoned to the waist with your favorite cropped trousers and pumps. If you prefer things slouchy and casual, toss your favorite summer sundress over flares and add a blanket scarf. But don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be.
But before I end off here, I know there might be a whole outrage over this whole look. So I am going address it before becomes a whole controversy 😉 I’m not going to lie, as much I love and adore this trend, it is a gray area in the Orthodox Jewish World. Sometimes I feel like it’s cheating haha … but in my opinion it’s not. It’s just another way of expressing your unique style and still following the the modest guidelines. The way I think of it is, it’s very similar to wearing leggings under a dress, so why not the jeans?
Now, it’s your turn! I want to keep my blog a fun and clean safe zone, would love to hear your comments in a kind and respectful manner!
