As human beings we are constantly looking for different ways to blend into society and maybe one day be apart of the “it” group that so many people desire and dream to be apart of.
Growing up as an Orthodox Jew and trying to fit my little self into the outside world was somewhat difficult. I grew up in a bubble that more often than not shielded me from the everyday realities of life. Coming into a world where I had to work really hard to get where I wanted to go, was in a way a culture shock. I had to figure out how to fit in and still be myself. I guess the most difficult part, especially being in the fashion industry, was modesty. I couldn’t help but ask myself – how can I express my style and and be modest at the same time? Sometimes I would say to myself “If only I could wear pants.” These voices would go through my head constantly, but once I found my inner self and started to find my way around the world of fashion I became more confident in my style and realized I do not need to work so hard to blend into society and be apart of the “it” group.
